What gel nail polish products remove gel polish?

Please don’t skip this step! Your nails are precious and we don’t want you doing any damage to them by using any old cowboy hack you might find on the internet. Add these items to your cart then you’re ready to get started!

The Opallac 2-in-1 Shine & Soak Solution and the Opallac Gel Remover Wraps are the real superstars here. The 2-in-1 solution serves two purposes – firstly, it is essential in helping you to remove gel nails, but it is also great when you’re ready to apply new gel polish to remove the sticky residue that occurs. It comes in a perfect 200mL size, so don’t feel like you have to use it sparingly!

The gel remover wraps are comfortable and made to wrap easily around each finger, with a clever built in self-adhesive. The gel remover wraps come in a pack of 30, so you’re saving on the cost of three trips to the nail salon! Plus because of how these wraps are made, they don’t work with regular acetone nail polish remover – they need the 2-in-1 solution to work their magic.

How to remove gel polish at home

  1. Just like they do in the salon, gently file the gel polish on each fingernail until it roughens. Don’t fret, this will not damage your natural nail. You shouldn’t be able to see any shiny surfaces left. Breaking down the outer top coat like this changes the physiology of the gel polish by weakening the gel’s coating.
  2. Cut up 10 nail wraps (Hack alert: you can even reuse the same wrap twice - you can thank us later!)
  3. Pour the 2-in-1 Shine & Soak Solution onto the white section of the Gel Remover Wraps. Don’t be afraid to splash out here, you can’t apply too much – in fact, the wraps need to be completely saturated.
  4. Place the white area directly onto the nail and then wind the remaining pink section of the wrap around the finger, covering any air holes and gaps. Wait approximately 4 to 5 minutes before checking on its progress.
  5. Undo the wraps from your fingers and remove the residue gel polish off from the nail. It may require a gentle pushing motion. If it doesn’t want to peel just yet, don’t force it. Simply re-soak the wrap, place the white section back on top of the nail and wrap the nail back up. Wait a further 2 or 3 minutes before trying again. When ready, remove gel from the remaining nails.
  6. Wash hands and nails to remove all traces of polish. Dry them and lightly buff for a tidy finish.
